2021 Lake Hopatcong Open Water Swim Festival

LHOWSF 2021 Update – After trying to coordinate a good date that works with timing, guards, location, and other resources, we determined hosting at the very end of September isn’t a good fit for our event. We’ve decided to defer to 2022 and we are hoping to work with the marine police to get permission for a June (pre-season) date to avoid so many fall resource conflicts. If we can secure a date, then we’ll work with sponsors and open registration. The cost of hosting this type of event has increased so it is difficult to do so without a minimum of 100 swimmers or a significant price increase. Hopefully, some costs come down as we get back to our new normal, but this will also become a factor in hosting moving forward. So much effort is putting into hosting an event, so we want to ensure we have a shot at making our fundraising goals before we commit, as well as host a safe event with good water quality, guards, and other critical volunteer support.
